Homemade Mince Pies Recipe

Homemade Mince pies are a simple to make and delicious to eat. If you are interested in making your own mince pies, please follow the guidelines below.

Ingredients:

  • 3 table spoons of mincemeat

  • 1 egg white

  • A single portion of short crust pastry

  • 1 table spoon of sugar (use fine rather than granulated)

Instructions:

  • Firstly, roll out the short crust pastry.
  • Using a template pastry cutter, cut rounds for the bases and tops of the pies.
  • Place bases into a well greased pastry tin, filling each one with a little mincemeat.
  • Beat the egg white until it forms a smooth texture.
  • Brush the filled pastry edges with the egg white mixture.
  • Next, brush the pastry tops with the egg white and stick them on top of the filled bases - pierce a small hole in each mince pie.
  • Sprinkle some sugar on the top of each pie.
  • Put in the oven for approximately 25 minutes @ 200 degrees centigrade.
